Pasadena, TX area :
CHEMICAL LOADER40+ Hours
Successful candidates will have a year of continuous and current experience as a Chemical Loader in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment. Chemical Loaders transfer liquid chemicals between plant tanks and various transport vehicles and containers, such as tank cars, tank trucks, inter-modal tank containers, drums, and tote bins.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:Inspects the vehicle for cleanlinessInspects the vehicle for safety and proper operating conditionsConnects and disconnects product hoses and loading armsConnects and disconnects grounding/bonding cablesConducts daily inspections of basic safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers, safety showers, and eye wash stationsPerforms some lining up of valves and pumps for product transferMonitors product transfer for safety, quality, and productivityTakes samples from vehicles/containers in accordance with established proceduresPerforms some lab tests using automated analysis machinesCommunicates with production and other plant personnel, and with drivers and other carrier personnelLoader is responsible for proper placarding, marking, and labelingParticipates in Mundy Safety Awareness ProgramParticipates in safety audits as requestedAttends various required training classes, several with refresher requirements (annual or other)Attends daily/weekly Toolbox Safety Meetings and monthly Site-wide Safety MeetingsUses extensive written procedures in completing all product transfer workUses extensive written check sheets in connection with product transfer work
The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all time. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required. All qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test, as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen and other qualifications as required.
