Job Description
Hilltop Holdings is looking for a Sr. BI Developer who will be responsible for for analyzing user requirements, developing BI solutions, documenting technical design, and supporting existing BI systems as assigned. An advanced understanding of data warehouse related technologies including ETL/ELT, Data Lakes, Data Warehouses and Data Marts is required. The ideal candidate understands KPI driven visualization techniques including cascaded scorecards and dashboards and works well with end users to fulfil complex requirements.
The candidate should have a solid understanding of UX design methodologies including wireframes and prototyping with BI technologies such as PowerBI (preferred), Tableau, Qlik, BOBJ or similar tools. Experience with the Azure data platform is required.
Responsibilities
Design and develop interactive and visually compelling reports and dashboards for end usersDefine, develop, and maintain DAX tabular cubes necessary for reporting solutionsCollaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needsFulfill business requests for specific reports utilizing data in reporting marts or other sourcesWork with data architects design solutions for the Azure Synapse platformEnsure data accuracy and consistency across all reports and dashboardsWorking with Microsoft Business Intelligence stack (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI, Fabric)Administer Power BI users with appropriate permissionsMaintain standards for delivery, quality, and visual presentation of delivered BI solutionsSupport and guide end user departs in development of user driven dashboardsQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems7+ years' experience working with reporting, analytics, and similar technologiesAdvanced Power BI, SQL and other programming languages required3 years' experience with cloud technologiesFinancial Services experience a plusStrong experience with data warehouse and mart driven reporting solutionsAbility to analyze data and discover patterns, anomalies useful for analyticsStrong understanding of data modeling and including dimensional modelsProficient knowledge of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) formula languageAdvanced experience with SQL and development of enterprise level analyticsExperience with data integration tools (SSIS, ADF, Python, Informatica)Strong analytical ability and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools integrationDevelopment and deployment of Power BI content packs and applicationsExceptional verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in team environments
