The
Shipping Clerk II
is an essential linkage in the material management process by ensuring all shipments are processed in a safe and efficient manner. Following a proven, meticulous process, the
Shipping Clerk
II
manages vendor shipments to send manufactured items out for vendor services, as well as customer shipments to ship out final completed projects to customers in adherence with all contractual requirements.
Success Criteria
Working primarily between the shop floor and warehouse, the
Shipping Clerk II
is responsible for the efficient coordination of all items needing to be shipped. The
Shipping Clerk II
ensures that material is properly gathered and identified using required tagging and labeling standards, packaged according to contractual and business standards, and scheduled for pickup through the appropriate logistics channels. They are responsible for ensuring all items are processed in a timely manner to keep projects on track.
Business success cannot happen without the
Shipping Clerk II
accurately and efficiently supplying the needed product to our vendors and customers. Requirements include the ability to read and understand contracts, build structurally sound crates, package items to prevent damage during transit (i.e. proper use of dunnage, strapping etc.), ensure proper preservation standards are followed for all items, and the ability to safely load items onto trucks, including the use of a forklift or overhead crane. Strong communication skills are essential to ensure effective collaboration and proper relaying of information. Attention to detail is critical in this role to maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
Sailing to success starts with having experience working in shipping or warehousing at a manufacturing company for heavy equipment. Familiarity with US Navy heavy machinery or complex structural parts could accelerate your path to leveling up with PAR.
