Position Summary:
This position will directly oversee, control, and grow the hosting operations of a high-tech multi-media ministry under the supervision of the Director of Information Technology. The role requires a strong foundation in hypervisors, Linux, Windows, Apple Mac, internet threat analysis, large modern and very fast networks, as well as large-scale storage systems. It is crucial that this position supports the mission and values of It Is Written by exemplifying the values and beliefs of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in all interactions.
Authority & Accountability:
Authority as delegated by and directly responsible to the Director of Information Technology in accordance with It Is Written's policies and objectives.
Essential Position Functions:
Install, configure, and maintain physical servers and networking equipment.Manage virtual servers, including deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting.Oversee the operation and maintenance of mass storage systems ensuring data integrity, security and accessibility.Oversee the operation and maintenance of large databases and database servers.Oversee and maintain telecommunication services and phone servers.Oversee and maintain internet services and connected firewalls.Oversee and maintain an enterprise backup system.Perform regular system backups and restore operations to safeguard data.Monitor system performance and manage security protocols to prevent unauthorized access.Collaborate with IT team members to plan and implement regular system updates and expansions.Provide technical support and guidance on infrastructure-related issues.Provide end user technical support for users and viewers.Analyze and appropriately act upon internet threats within the networks.Manage hardware, software and maintenance contract vendor relations.Assist in planning the annual IT budget.Fulfill other responsibilities and duties as assigned.Position Specifications:
Qualifications, Scope, and Complexity of Duties:
Education:
A high school diploma, or equivalent, is required.
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science is preferred.
Experience:A minimum of two (2) years of experience with virtualization, server management, and network administration is required.
Network, server or operating system certifications are desirable.
Certification in network information security is preferred.
The Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA) certification, or equivalent, is required within one (1) year of employment.

Skills, scope, and complexity of duties:
Possess a strong knowledge of server hardware, multi-internet firewall configurations, and multi-tenant website hosting.Have experience with managing virtual servers.Ability to create and maintain data backup plans and life-cycle planning.Have experience with backup software in a virtualized environment.Knowledgeable of Storage Area Networks and mass storage system operations and maintenance.Have experience with VLANs and network segregation.Possesses experience with enterprise firewall and perimeter guarding.Have experience with IPv4 and IPv6.Exhibit a willingness to learn new skills and technologies.Demonstrate a mentor mindset to help grow less experienced members of the team on their journey to become better at their craft.Maintain a positive attitude and a sharp attention to detail.Possess the ability to deal tactfully with IT staff and staff from other departments in all interactions.Demonstrate a passion for technology's role in ministry.Ability to effectively handle confidential information and situations at all times and maintain a high degree of loyalty and support.Is a self-starter who can exercise direction and independent judgment, manage multiple projects, assume responsibility, and deliver on tight deadlines.Must possess logical and analytical skills.Exhibit good interpersonal communication skills.Possess superb time-management and multitasking skills.Able to exhibit Christ-like behavior in daily tasks, collaborative projects, and under stress.

Working Conditions:
General working conditions of an open office and data center.Occasional moderate to high stress due to maintaining continuous operation, availability, and efficiency of the servers, network, firewalls and internet as these systems affect daily operations.The noise level is moderate in the data center.Must be available, when needed, during non-business hours to handle any outages and perform network and server maintenance.Prolonged sitting, computer viewing, and repetitive motion from keyboard & mouse use.Physical requirements: requires standing, walking, prolonged time sitting at a desk, reaching, climbing, and lifting (maximum of 50 lbs.)Specific Requirements:
Salaried, 38 regular hours per week.May require variable hours and weekend work.No special clothing or safety gear is required.Business casual attire is required.
