ABAP Developer - With CDS View knowledge

Job SummaryThe ABAP Developer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining ABAP programming solutions across various areas of SAP projects, including SAP ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA. This role requires hands-on experience in CDS Views, integration solutions, and SAP HANA development. The candidate will lead development efforts, engage in performance tuning, and collaborate with teams to deliver robust SAP solutions, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities•Develop and implement ABAP custom programming across multiple SAP modules (SD, MM, PP, FI-CO, PM, etc.), including Function Modules, Interfaces, Data Migration, Forms, Screens, BADI, and User-Exits in SAP ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA projects.•Lead SAP development efforts on medium to large-sized projects, ensuring effective implementation of SAP ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA (on-premise or cloud).•Work with Core Data Services (CDS) Views and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP) for SAP HANA development, employing SQL-based ABAP objects, Stored Procedures, and SQL Queries to meet client business needs.•Develop ABAP WRICEF (Workflow, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms) objects, and integrate solutions like OData, Web Services, Proxies, EDI, and SAP IDoc messages.•Configure and extend standard Fiori Apps using ABAP on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), employing in-app and side-by-side extensibility options.•Carry out system performance tuning, including SQL, database, and application analysis, to optimize ABAP programs.•Engage in system design activities, including systems strategy, requirements development, and prototyping of SAP applications (custom or standard).•Participate in team activities that involve Requirements Gathering, Gap Analysis, Technical Specifications Preparation, and Unit Testing of WRICEF solutions.•Present ideas and solutions to audiences of all sizes, interacting with client management and users from multiple countries.•Exhibit strong communication skills, including writing and verbal presentation, with excellent customer-facing consulting abilities.•Stay updated on the latest SAP application solution capabilities to suggest new areas of work for client engagements.•Comply with professional standards, team play principles, and internal IT processes.
Required Qualifications•Minimum 8 years of SAP development experience in ABAP across multiple areas (Function Modules, Interfaces, Data Migration, Forms, Screens, BADI, User-Exits, etc.) for SAP ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA projects.•Minimum 2 years of experience as a SAP Development Lead in medium to large customer projects for SAP ECC 6.0 or SAP S/4HANA (on-premise or cloud).•Hands-on experience with Core Data Services (CDS) Views and ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP) for SAP HANA development.•Strong knowledge of integration solutions including OData, Web Services, Proxies, EDI, and SAP IDoc messages.•Experience with setting up and configuring standard Fiori Apps with extensibility using ABAP on SAP BTP.•Proven ability to lead discussions, present ideas, and engage effectively with client management and users from different locations.•Solid analytical experience in the SAP environment, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications•Knowledge of the latest SAP application solution capabilities.•Experience in digital transformation projects within an SAP context.•Previous experience in defining systems strategy, developing system requirements, and creating prototypes for SAP applications.
