Job Summary:

Client is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Architect to join the IT Cloud Architecture team. This pivotal role supports Client's ongoing migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, as well as the integration of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. While not leading the migration effort, the Senior Cloud Architect will actively contribute to architectural design and implementation, ensuring seamless integration between cloud and on-premises environments.

Key Responsibilities:

•Collaborate with cloud migration teams to design, implement, and optimize AWS and Azure solutions for Client's infrastructure and enterprise applications.

•Support the integration of IoT/ITS technologies with AWS and on-premises systems, contributing to the department's Intelligent Transportation Management initiatives.

•Provide architectural designs for hybrid environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for transportation management systems.

•Document logical and physical designs in accordance with Client policies, standards, and patterns.

•Participate in ongoing modernization of on-premises systems, focusing on effective data flow and system integration between transportation management and cloud-based services.

•Engage in design reviews, cloud roadmap discussions, and project planning with cross-functional teams.

•Assist in drafting technical requirements and ensure adherence to Client's cloud governance and security policies.

•Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to ensure optimized cloud environment configurations.

•Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on product selection, integrations, and deployments, particularly in relation to IoT/ITS solutions.

•Stay informed about the latest trends in cloud, IoT, and ITS technologies to bring innovative ideas to Client's infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

•8+ years of experience in infrastructure delivery and support, with a strong focus on cloud architecture.

•Extensive experience with AWS and Azure, including cloud-native application development, application migration, and hybrid environments.

•Solid experience integrating IoT/ITS technologies, preferably in a transportation or government setting.

•Strong understanding of networking, cloud security, disaster recovery, and data management in hybrid cloud environments.

•Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, or similar languages.

•Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployment strategies using Terraform.

•Experience in agile project environments, with the ability to diagram and present cloud architectures.

•Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Familiarity with transportation management technologies and protocols (e.g., ITS standards, transportation signal controllers).

•Proficient in utilizing GitHub and GitHub Actions for code management, automation, and deployment processes.

Education & Certifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent career experience will also be considered.

•AWS Cloud Certification (AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional) is preferred.
