Facilities Space Planner to join their team in Tallahassee, Florida. Visit our website to learn more about our Compensation, Benefits, Wellness, Recognition, and Employee Development programs here: https://hr.fsu.edu/total-rewardsThe anticipated yearly salary range for this position is $50,000 - $70,000.About the role:This position serves as a space data expert and is responsible for management of the FSU's Space data systems and for coordinating with university administrators regarding current and future space data tracking to ensure compliance with FSU policies, BOG regulations and state statues.How you will spend your time:Committees Support and Space Planning:Provides space data, reports, and analysis to assist in setting agendas. Provides support as needed to aid decision making.Communicates space standards, guidelines, and resources.Manages and tracks space requests, reviews, and approval process for Space Committee consideration.Collaborates with and supports additional committees on space use and analysis. Prepares and distributes meeting minutes.Reviews department requests for construction services to ensure requestor is assigned to the space and the type of change to the space is appropriate.Reviews capital construction documents at various phases of design process for room numbers meet FSU design standards/guidelines; numbering is logical and provides for effective way finding.Utilizes above knowledge and experience to create graphic and analytical space planning solutions as needed and requested.Project Review and Collaboration:Collaborates on project reviews to ensure space standards and guidelines are followed. Reviews planning, design and construction projects, provides space recommendations, and communicates concerns.Develops room numbering guidelines, building number guidelines and provides quality control on projects to ensure consistency and adherence.Analyzes space allocations to determine if appropriate guidelines, University policy, and programmatic needs are met.Works to determine which programs or spaces should be analyzed, and if the space could be better utilized.Checks floor plans for accuracy and standards/guidelines adherence (polyline placement, layers, and position and size of labels).At project completion after Project Manager has accepted as-built, check record documents for and correct errors, then export floor plan to AiM, STARS, and SPIN.?Space Data (SD) Analytics:Responsible for all SD analytics; allocations and utilization.Provides historical reports on the physical plant growth for the mission of the university and for development of the Master Plan.Assists/provides space planning. Ensures space is classified according to the USDOE Facilities Inventory and Classification Manual and Fl BOG stds.Develops and maintains procedures and standards for floor plan integration into space database.Creates and updates SOPs for current/future practices related to floor plans, space planning, and SD.Analyzes and reports on SD and utilization by researching, comparing, and critiquing data, including but not limited to program and space categories, functional use classifications, and other institutional data.Creates reports on space information, floor plans, and analysis.Creates spreadsheets, reports, charts, and graphs for internal/external stakeholders, and manages space surveys/audits to ensure the SD is accurate through coordination with building proctors, dept heads, and other academic and administrative departments.Communicates all space inventory changes.Collects room use, dept, and employee data through drawing curation and audit for quality and accuracy.Develops means to explore utilization, occupancy, and other metrics to aid in strategic planning.?
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and two years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.?Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including lifting 20 lbs, standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, climbing, and descending stairs.?A valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.?
