Radiation Therapist

**Overview**At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy our focus is patient-centered care. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services heart and vascular care emergency services surgery maternity cancer care and diagnostic imaging.**Responsibilities**What you will do:+ Greets patient utilizing AIDET, verifies patient in identification, reviews chart for proper radiation treatment parameters and physician prescriptions+ Informs patients and families about the treatment process and answers questions+ Prepares patients for treatment. Positions equipment according to plan+ Takes portal films or IGRT scans to ensure treatment protocols are accurately set up and followed+ Verifies proper dosage of ionizing radiation for patient as prescribed by physician+ Monitors patient throughout treatment process by checking video monitors and intercom+ Informs physician anytime patient experiences distress or side effects related to treatment process+ Records each patients treatment in EMR and proper notes for accurate treatment and set-up+ Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the filed by reading appropriate journals, books, and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences and education opportunities**Qualifications****Education**+ Satisfactory completion of a JRCERT accredited Radiation Therapy Program**Licenses & Certifications**+ ARRT (T) boards completion within in 6 month of hire+ BLS from the American Heart Association required upon hire**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**+ Knowledge of linear accelerators and record and verify systems+ Ability to operate radiation therapy equipment+ Ability to manage patients+ Ability to follow oral and written instructionsHelloImaging ImagingNebraska #MissionCritical #LI-CHI**Pay Range**$29.02 - $42.08 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
