Job Requirements:• ACLS, BLS, NIH certifications required• Minimum 2 years of experience required• Every other weekend required• Accepts first-time travelersWork Environment:• Patient ratios: 4-5 (based on patient acuity)• Floating required: Yes• Scrubs: Navy BlueRequired Skills:1. Cardiac Telemetry2. MS/Tele3. Telemetry4. Interpretation of dysrhythmias5. Management of dysrhythmias6. Telemetry monitoring on the unit7. Use of Rapid Response Teams8. IV insulin protocols9. Blood Product Administration10. Central line care/management11. Peripheral Line Care/Management12. PICC line management13. Heparin Protocols14. Management of cardiac drips (no titration)15. CVA (Stroke) care16. Chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac)17. External CPAP/BIPAP18. High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)19. Interpretation of ABGs20. Non-invasive airway management21. Oxygen face masksSpecial Procedures/Unit Details:1. Peritoneal Dialysis2. Telemetry: RN to interpret and document rhythm3. Non-titratable Drips: Amiodarone, Diltilizem Cardiazem, Amiodarone & Lasix4. Heparin: Heparin drip nursing protocol5. Code Team Responders: recorders and time keepers6. Stroke certified unitPatient Ratio Details:• Typically 1:4, but RN should expect 1:5 based on acuity and downgrades• If floated to non-tele med surg unit, patient ratio is 1:6Unit Admissions:• Admits from NWH ED• Direct admits from Grace Medical Center• Transfers from non-tele unitsPCU/Telemetry Cardiac Monitoring Unit
