Job SummaryUnder general supervision, coordinate and supervise a variety of Community Connection for Child Care (CCCC) programs; disseminate child care information; provide complex staff assistance to the Community Connection for Child Care Managers. This position requires the ability to speak and write Spanish.Requirements / QualificationsExperience: Three years of increasingly responsible child development experience preferred. Education A.A., A.S. Degree (or the completion of an A.A., A.S. degree within 6 months after hire date), or 60 units or more with specialized course work in child development, human services, education, psychology, sociology, social work, or related field required. Documents you wish to attach should be uploaded via EDJOIN by the filing deadline in order to be considered in the hiring process (pertains to current employees also). A scanner to upload required documents is available in the Human Resources office located at 1330 Truxtun Ave., Bakersfield, CA 93301. •The documents will be scanned and emailed to the candidate. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:Copy of Transcript (College Transcript)Comments and Other InformationIMPORTANT COMMENTS: •Current employees: Please email Anisa Hernandez at ahernandez@kern.org with any questions regarding the required documents. •After the filing deadline, all candidates will be notified by email if they do or do not qualify to take the written exam. •Candidates must achieve 70% on the written examination to qualify for an oral interview. Examinations will be weighted 30% for written and 70% for oral. Candidates must obtain a composite score of 70% or better to qualify for the eligibility list. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Some positions may require proof of privately owned automobile insurance and the possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle operator's license. Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within six (6) weeks of hire and annually thereafter, as required by the California Child Abuse Neglect Reporting Act. This position has a probationary period of six months or 130 days in paid service, whichever is longer.
