We are looking for an experienced

Vice President of Digital Tag Management

to lead our client's digital tagging and advertising operations!

In this role, you will drive innovation and performance across digital marketing campaigns by overseeing the execution, implementation, and governance of tagging strategies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure all operations adhere to data privacy standards while improving campaign insights and targeting.

This is a hybrid contract role in which candidates must be local to Chicago to be onsite 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with paid media teams to provide consultation and thought leadership on search, social, mobile, display, and video channels.

Maintain governance standards for tagging and media/ad operations, ensuring processes are compliant and efficient.

Manage and implement digital media tags using Tag Management Systems (e.g., DoubleClick Campaign Suite, Adobe Insight) to monitor and optimize campaign performance.

Conduct quality control checks and document tagging setups to ensure seamless execution.

Partner with business and technical teams to transform data into valuable insights for decision-making and performance improvement.

Ensure compliance with controls for tag deployment, data collection, and privacy protection, adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Act as the subject matter expert, driving the evolution of tag management technologies and best practices.

Review project documentation to ensure quality deliverables and align with strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

Experience level: Experienced

Education: Bachelors

5+ years of experience in digital tag management or a related discipline.

8+ years of experience in digital marketing and advertising, with a strong understanding of ad operations and site tagging.

Expertise in marketing analytics and media operations.

Hands-on experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, JIRA, Webtrends, CoreMetrics, Ad Servers, Demand Side Platforms, and Tag Management Platforms (e.g., Tealium, GTM).

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale digital initiatives.

Strong knowledge of data privacy laws and best practices for data governance and compliance.
