Position Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Electrical System Architect to join our team at Antora. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and love of high-voltage and high-power electrical system design and architecture. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to define electrical system requirements, perform architecture and design trade studies and own the development of the highest performance, lowest cost system for Antora's thermal energy storage products and projects.Define the electrical system architecture for both Antora's thermal battery module and plant electrical system.
Work closely with Antora's module hardware team and plant engineering teams to ensure the highest performing, lowest cost electrical system across Antora's projects
Lead and support electrical R&D initiatives
Support Antora's code compliance efforts
Create detailed system design documents and diagrams.
Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and components for system implementation.
Roles & Responsibilities
Work with stakeholders to gather and analyze system requirements.
Translate business and technical requirements into detailed electrical system designs.
Ensure system designs meet performance, reliability, and regulatory standards.
Oversee the integration of electrical systems and components into larger systems.
Develop and execute testing plans to validate system performance and functionality.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the integration and testing phases.
Work closely with mechanical, software, and hardware engineering teams to ensure cohesive system development while meeting project milestones.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Proven experience as a system architect or in a similar role with a focus on high-power electrical systems, focusing on performance, efficiency, and scalability of systems up to 34.5kV and 100+MW.
Experience with trade studies to determine the optimal configuration of the electrical systems, including voltage levels, power electronic applicability, and protection schemes.
Experience with conceptual electrical system design, integration, and testing in a relevant industry (e.g., automotive, aerospace, energy, EV, power generation or storage).
Proficiency in electrical design and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice, PSCAD).
Experience designing, prototyping, and bringing switching based power electronics to market. The ideal applicant will be able to evaluate different power delivery solutions to confirm initial installation and operational requirements.
Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to industrial electrical systems.
Excellent problem-solving and failure root-cause analysis experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Qualifications Desired
Mentor and lead (either directly or through influence) more junior engineers
Participation in product full cycle development - from conceptual phase to prototype, site deployment, and operations.

Salary Range:
$163,000 - $195,000 USD
Salary Basis: Annual

The actual salary offered will be determined within the posted range based on a candidate's experience, credentials, and expertise as they pertain to the requirements of the position.
