$52,000 - $53,000 Job Description: Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties in support of the day‑to‑day operations of a function or program; executes the details of one or more programs with or without oversight from a director or advisor; assists in program planning and development: interprets, monitors, and analyzes information regarding operating policies and procedures: administers budgets; uses independent judgment, and coordinates academic and/or staff personnel matters. Resolves problems that have a significant impact on the overall goals of the department. Excludes nonexempt employees, departmental business officers and positions that can be identified with a specific functional area and code. Program Coordinator Frostburg State University (FSU) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented full-time, grant-funded Program Coordinator to manage and support the effective delivery of initiatives within FSU’s Division of Regional Development, including FSU’s Outdoor Recreation Economy Institute (FOREI), TGCC, Communities of Excellence (COE) and other RDE initiatives. The continuation of this position is contingent upon recurring grant funds. In addition to managing program operations, the Program Coordinator will also lead marketing and communications efforts, including social media management and the creation of newsletters and annual reports. Position includes the robust University System of Maryland benefits package, which is comprised of annual, personal, and sick leave, holidays, tuition remission, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, and retirement plans. Responsibilities: Program Management: Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating assigned program initiatives. Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations of assigned programs. Monitor project timelines, deliverables, and key milestones. Assist with grant writing and fundraising initiatives. Lead assigned program meetings, events and other convenings. Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a primary point of contact for program participants, partners, and stakeholders. Collaborate with team members to develop effective communication strategies for program activities. Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and relevant reports. Assist in the preparation of newsletters and annual reports, showcasing the impact, outcomes, and financials of RDE, FOREI & TGCC. Administrative Support: Maintain and organize program documentation, files, and databases. Schedule, coordinate and attend meetings, events, and workshops. Assist in managing program budgets. Data Collection & Reporting: Gather, compile, and analyze data related to program performance. Prepare reports on program outcomes, challenges, and successes. Provide recommendations for program improvements. Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate program-related events, workshops, and training sessions. Handle logistics, including venue booking, catering, and materials preparation. Marketing and Communications: In collaboration with FSU’s marketing and communications team: Develop and implement a marketing strategy to promote the program and increase engagement. Create and manage content for social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) to highlight program activities and successes. Design and distribute newsletters to program participants, stakeholders, and partners, keeping them informed about program developments and upcoming events. Collaborate with graphic designers or use design tools to create flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials. Assist in the preparation of annual reports, showcasing the impact, outcomes, and financials of the programs. Manage and update the program’s website or program pages as needed. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., public administration, communications, or business) and at least 2 years of experience in program coordination and community and regional development, preferably in a university or non-profit setting. Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Experience in working with FSU, TGCC and RDE and proficiency in social media platforms and experience using Canva, Office 365, Excel, Google, and other program management software is a plus.
