Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as a lead strategist in creating and implementing a comprehensive major and principal gift strategy to advance the goals of the medical center. Establish fundraising priorities, develop fundraising goals and timelines, and create a plan for building a prospect pipeline through both traditional and nontraditional means.
Serve as a senior member of the Principal and Major Gifts staff, responsible for advancing the institution's major and principal gifts program to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift ($25,000+) prospects and donors.
Devise, implement, and manage effective, creative, and original strategies designed to engage and secure a wide range of key prospects to meet or exceed divisional, departmental, and institutional funding goals.
Establish and maintain high-quality relationships with department chairs, division chiefs, senior physicians and researchers, and other key staff by demonstrating a firm grasp of medically related terms and critical issues facing the health care profession.
Shape key institutional and development-related messages through the direction and preparation of major proposals, solicitation letters, and other materials for major prospects and donors.
Build and manage a personal portfolio of 125 major gift prospects and donors, working in consultation with the Vice President of Philanthropy to devise tailored major gift strategies.
Share responsibility for the strategic planning, development, and implementation of the division's goals in collaboration with the Vice President of Philanthropy and other senior volunteer leaders.
Direct and support employees' daily work activities, with responsibilities including hiring, termination, corrective action, and performance reviews. Direct Reports: 2-3 Indirect Reports: None.
