The Office Managing Director
will serve as a top-level manager in a successful, growing office. They will interact regularly with senior representatives of current and prospective clients. The Office Managing Director will oversee all client relations, including project team performance and overall client satisfaction. The Office Managing Director must have extremely strong interpersonal skills, with a confident yet personable demeanor. It is essential that the candidate be highly articulate, with exceptional presentation skills.
Your Impact:
Strategic:
The Office Managing Director will be a key contributor to further defining and guiding the strategic plan throughout the regional geographic area. PBK’s corporate resources and management team will be available to assist the Principal in meeting these goals.
Operational:
The Office Managing Director will be responsible for the delivery of services, the development of culture, and the execution of processes within the offices. They will oversee client relations, including project team performance and overall client satisfaction.
Marketing/Business Development:
The ability to establish and develop relationships with potential clients is essential. The Office Managing Director will work closely with the firm’s Marketing & BD departments to develop new opportunities and build relationships.
Management/Leadership:
The Office Managing Director will promote a support structure to further develop the abilities of the staff. They will also oversee the recruitment of new staff to supplement an already talented team.
Here’s What You Will Need:
Prior K-12, Higher Education, Civic, Higher Education and/or Healthcare market sector experience is required.
Must be a Registered Architect in the state of residence.
A minimum of 15 years of experience in the architectural profession, including at least 10 years managing project teams and processes.
Physical Requirements Workplace / Environment Conditions:
Stand and sit for extended periods, use hands to manipulate tools or equipment, and talk and hear. (F)
Drive an automobile. (O) A driver’s license and proof of insurance are required.
Lift and/or move up to thirty-five (35) pounds. (O)
The employee must be able to occasionally work with the Firm’s third-party IS support vendor after normal working hours to support software updates or assist in troubleshooting issues in order to minimize impacts to staff production time. (O)
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. (F)
Works in outside weather conditions and is exposed to fumes, airborne particles, loud noises, and potentially hazardous conditions typically associated with facility construction activities. (O)
The noise level in the work environment is quiet. (F)
We strongly prefer candidates who have a deep familiarity with the Miami metropolitan area and its unique cultural and business landscape. Ideally, candidates will have lived in the area for 10 years or more, as this level of local experience will contribute to success in this role.
Given the diverse population of Miami, fluency in both English and Spanish is highly valued for this position. The ability to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients and stakeholders is an important aspect of the role.
