We do this by driving vast improvements for our customers, experiences that delight, platforms that scale to meet the demands of the business, and tools that provide crucial productivity and insights.As tech lead for our software team, you will be responsible for:Understanding customer needs, partnering with PM to define the future of DSI’s applicationsDelighting our customers with the experience of using DSI-built toolsDriving a team of engineers to effectively decompose, plan, and execute on workEnsuring on-time delivery of resilient and scalable toolsDescriptionIn this role, you will:Partner with leadership to define and prioritize areas of focusLead a team’s technical direction and executionInfluence engineering and PM partners to drive the best solutions for the businessDesign technical solutions that directly impact DSI customers’ efficacy in their rolesDemonstrate rigor through implementations that scale to meet business needs, are always available, and run efficientlyMentor, coach, and otherwise invest in other colleaguesDocument clear requirements, decompose work into meaningful piecesProvide clear milestones, dates, and deliver reliablyResearch novel technologies, build proofs of concept, present learningsMinimum Qualifications7+ years software engineering experienceExperience with systems architecture, API and frontendFamiliar with infrastructure, various data stores and cachesAbility to clearly communicate and explain technical positionsComfort driving a group through iterative planning, execution, and deliveryUnderstanding of how to design for resilience and self-healingPreferred Qualifications10+ years software engineering experienceExperience working as a lead or manager of engineering teamsExpert level understanding of distributed services, databases, API developmentExperience with rapid scaling, performance and resilience testingDeep knowledge of AWS or other cloudFamiliarity with native development (iOS, macOS, Swift)BS/MS CS/CE or equivalent experienceAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
