Registered Nurse - Cardio Thoracic ICU @ Chesapeake Regional Medical Center

Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Cardio Thoracic ICU Job Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30), including weekends, holidays, and float Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours contract available Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in CVICU/CTICU; travel experience preferred License: License in hand preferred; Temporary license process needs to be started prior to applying Certifications: BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association); NIHSS required Must-Have: EPIC proficiency; EKG testing required for applicable units Job Description: - Manage arterial lines, blood products, central and PICC lines- Start IVs and administer continuous IV and procedural sedation- Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips- Strong neuro experience required, including post-brain surgery care- Handle equipment such as FloTrac/Vigileo, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, and Impella- Care for post-cardiac surgery patients, both directly from OR and not- Manage pre/post cardiac cath/intervention procedures- Monitor pulmonary artery lines/Swan Ganz and handle IV insulin protocols- Conduct CVVHD/CRRT and CVA/Acute Stroke management- Assist with BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)- Interpret ABGs and perform suctioning (ETT, NT)- Manage ventilators, infection prevention, isolation precautions, and surgical wounds- Preferred skills include thermoregulation, managing renal failure, accessing ports, and ICP monitoring- Care for post-operative CABG adult patients, acute coronary conditions, NSTEMI, STEMI, and CHF- Work in universal bed model, allowing ICU patients to remain in CTICU until discharge- Flu vaccine required, with medical/religious exemptions allowed
