SUMMARYA Chemical Batch Maker mixes, disperses and converts raw material into finished product.Using scales and other measuring devices, the batcher follows a batch ticket that contains the amounts of material, order of addition and process instructions.The environment is hot and dusty and the work is physically demanding.This will be accomplished by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Includes the following:(Other duties may be assigned)A batcher pumps, mixes and blends both dry and liquid chemicals as specified by batch tickets under the direction of the Production Manager.Operates a variety of dispersers and related chemical equipment.Has the ability to follow batch formulations.Required to record process information, such as lot numbers, temperature, mixing speed, and times.Set up, operate, and charge equipment that mixes, blends, or processes ingredients in the manufacturing of epoxy adhesives, according to formulas.Coordinate tasks with other workers who are working in the batch making process.Inspect tanks to ensure that they are empty and suitable for use prior to adding materials.Assists in other areas of the plant as needed.QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Qualified individuals must have 2+ years of hands on experience with chemical batch making or related technical degree.Fork lift experience.High School Diploma or GED.Good writing and communication skills in English.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
