Junior Network Engineer/Cable Technician

Evolver Federal is currently seeking highly motivated self-starters to join our team as a Junior Network Engineer/Cable Technician supporting a government customer in Washington, DC. In this role, you will support the project of implementing upgraded network infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Be part of the team responsible for the installation, organization, and development of CAT5/6 low voltage cables and fiber, while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements. Aid in deploying/installing new switches, WAPs, and UPS devices. Assist with the deployment of new network devices across the main campus and remote sites. Perform installation of new drops (copper and fiber) throughout the client site, including testing of the network drops and fiber. Maintain detailed documentation of cable terminations, labeling, and patch panel assignments. Troubleshoot common cable problems using fault isolation techniques. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 1 year of Information Technology experience. 1-3 years of cable experience/network gear deployment. Excellent active listening and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of CAT6 and fiber standards. Experience testing cables for continuity and signal quality. Experience using digital multimeters, CAT6, and fiber testers. Experience supporting projects such as the deployment/decommissioning of switches, WAPs, UPS devices, etc. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. 2+ years of IT experience. CompTIA Network+ certification. Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) certification. Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) certification. BICSI Installer 1 (INST1) certification. BICSI Technician (Tech) certification.
