Full-time, ExemptAbout the Role:We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Public Relations to join our team. As a strategic thinker and exceptional communicator, you'll develop and execute comprehensive communications and media relations strategies that align with our mission, vision, and values.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute strategic earned media plans to promote our brand and messagingDirect and manage media relations, including press releases, media pitches, and media and influencer FAMsManage the digital influencer strategy and programEstablish and maintain media relationships with key contacts and publicationsSupervise the Communications team to ensure program success and efficiencyCollaborate with the content team to align and integrate social media content with PR and influencer initiativesWhat We Offer:Competitive salary range of $90,000 -$110,000 depending on experienceComprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) retirement savings plan with immediate match and vestingPaid Personal Time Off (PTO) and Sick Pay benefitsOpportunity to work with a dynamic and passionate teamFlexible work schedule, including remote work optionsProfessional development and growth opportunitiesA chance to make a real impact on the tourism economy of Monterey CountyOur Ideal Candidate:Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, or related field3-5 years of experience in a director-level Communications or Public Relations positionPrior experience in destination marketing, travel and tourism, or PR agency rolesProven sound independent decision-making abilitiesKnowledge of Monterey County products and assetsAbility to travel both domestically and internationallyProficient in Microsoft Office products, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel and familiar with cloud computing environments
