Full-Time Psychologist
Requirements: Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology from an APA accredited program and be license eligible or PsyPact eligible in the state of Missouri.

Responsibilities:
- Assesses a patient's psychological status and provides evidenced based assessment and intervention
- Collaborates with medical service to provide appropriate psychological intervention for patients.
- Refers patients to other disciplines for consults and evaluations as indicated.
- Provides psychological expertise and education to multidisciplinary team. Acts as resource to other disciplines.
- Communicates complex/sensitive information to patients and medical team.
- Carries out ongoing record keeping and case review of all psychotherapy work in compliance with institutional and state guidelines.
- Provides a continuum of short and long term psychotherapy to individuals, couples families and groups, based on individualized treatment plans.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital is a non-for-profit, 195-bed inpatient and outpatient pediatric medical center. We specialize in neonatology, cardiology, pediatric and fetal surgery, and cancer services. We care for children of all ages from St. Louis, Missouri, Illinois, and from around the world. Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assesses a patient's psychological status and provides appropriate interventions and treatments.
- Collaborates with nursing and ancillary services to provide appropriate psychological therapy for patient. Refers patients to other disciplines for consult and evaluations as indicated.
- Provides psychological expertise and education to multidisciplinary team. Acts as resource to other disciplines.
- Communicates complex/sensitive information to patients and medical team.
- Administers and interprets psychological tests used for diagnosing mental and personality disorders and differentiating between organic and functional cases of behavior disorders.
- Carries out ongoing record keeping and case review of all psychotherapy work in compliance with state guidelines.
- Provides assessment (by telephone and in person) of suicidal and homicidal risk and immediacy of crisis situations.
- Provides a continuum of short and long term psychotherapy to individuals, couples families and groups, based on individualized treatment plans.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Ph.D or Psy.D in Psychology or related field
EXPERIENCE
- No experience required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent reaching, sitting, standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
- Occasional driving.
- Rare repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements and squatting.
