We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. This role is perfect for an individual with a passion for problem-solving, a knack for mechanical and electrical systems, and a commitment to ensuring our manufacturing equipment runs smoothly and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and installing various types of manufacturing equipment. With a focus on preventive maintenance and diagnostics, this role is integral to our operations and the quality of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience in preventive maintenance, equipment installation, and diagnostics.
  • Strong mechanical skills with a thorough understanding of mechanical systems, design, and applications.
  • Profound electrical skills with an understanding of electrical circuits, systems, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to handle physical workload including lifting heavy items, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and make critical decisions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record as this position requires travel to various job sites.
