This west Georgia Health System is recruiting an experienced Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Palliative Medicine physician to expand our current palliative care service line, by offering inpatient and limited outpatient services in west Georgia.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Join an established collaborative and collegial inpatient palliative care team comprised of one physician, a dedicated full-time LPN, and a full-time licensed social worker and help us develop an outpatient program that will enhance and grow the Palliative Care services offered by Tanner Health System.
  • Function as a program builder by overseeing the design & implementation of an outpatient palliative care clinic, to ultimately include Home Based Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Experience practicing Palliative Medicine in an acute care hospital setting with program management experience preferred.

Education

  • Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care through American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine or General Surgery
  • Completion of an accredited Palliative Medicine Fellowship
  • Current GA Medical License or must meet eligibility requirements

Schedule:

  • Monday Friday (5 days/40 hours per week).

The Health System service area provides care to a population just under 400,000 in our primary and secondary markets. The Health System is a 5 hospital, non- profit health system providing convenient, personalized healthcare to communities across west Georgia and east Alabama.

The city is home to the University of West Georgia, a state university with about 15,000 students, as well as West Georgia Technical College, with additional campuses in Douglasville, Franklin, LaGrange, Newnan, and Waco.
