Quality Control Inspector collaborates with the Production and Engineering teams and is responsible for all quality inspections for incoming and outgoing products. With attention to detail, ensure all Huish Outdoors products meet the quality standards and specifications set forth by the company. Our customers purchase our products because they demand quality. It is the Quality Control Inspector's responsibility to ensure that products and services meet the required standards and specifications.
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for delivering KPI's for the quality team, including but not limited to inspection turnaround times, inspection accuracy and quality assurance.Responsible for the inspections and approvals of incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials.Responsible for monitoring and inspecting in-process production parts by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production.Responsible for documenting incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality inspections following the company's quality management system guidelines.Accountable for maintaining measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.Accountable for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with regulations.Accountable for approving finished goods by confirming product specifications, conducting both visual and measurement tests.Accountable for ensuring returned products pass through re-work, inspection, and documentation and confirm re-work.Accountable for documenting inspection results in the Quality Management System. Create reporting and sharing results with the Quality ManagerAccountable for inspecting all recalled/re-worked items to confirm specifications and approve eligibility for resale.Maintain educational opportunities and update job knowledgeOther duties as assigned.Job Qualifications, Skills, and AbilitiesHigh School Diploma or GEDAssociate's degree in science and engineering preferred.3-5 years related work experience in quality control.Experience working with diving gear preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).Experience using NetSuite or other ERP software preferred.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and documents.Ability to understand standard measurements and tolerances.Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, thread gauges, etc.Proficient ability in communications with others using written and spoken English, including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to production staff.Knowledge and understanding of QT9 Quality Management System software preferredExpected Travel is 0%Physical Activities include periods of standing for extended periods of time and for probably long durations. May work on a computer that emulates blue light. Walking through production areas. Able to walk around in tight areas. Lifting up to 50 lbs. Use of hands for dexterity. Eye, hand coordination.
