We're searching for a Tax Managerto join our team in our Ocala office. This position is responsible for planning and managing all phases of client projects under the direction of, and in consultation with, Senior Managers and Partners, to ensure that quality service is provided in a timely, responsive, and efficient manner. This role will perform advanced-level services for clients and other areas of the Firm. This role supervises, reviews, trains and evaluates employees at the intern, associate, senior and supervisor levels. Additionally, this role is responsible for researching complex technical questions and plays a significant role in the business development of the Firm.

Apply appropriate accounting and tax theory and principles during the performance of tax engagements and assignments to ensure accurate and reliable data and client satisfaction.Manage, direct and monitor multiple client service teams on client engagements.Plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries and delegate to various tax preparers as deemed necessary.Interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise.Provide primary and secondary review of complicated or complex tax returns.Maintain familiarity with the qualifications of all tax associates under his/her supervision.Work to develop responsible, trained staff by assisting in recruiting, performance evaluations, developing training aids, and acting as an instructor in professional service programs (i.e. CPE).Participate in regular management meetings, assuming leadership for task forces and/or special projects as needed.Work closely with Partners and associates on client management.Act as a resource for tax preparers and audit associates on specific tax issues and/or questions.Participate actively in client meetings and tax planning efforts to assist the Auditing and Accounting Department with larger, multi-disciplinary clients.Prepare client billing and assist in the collection process.Manage tax research projects to achieve an accurate and efficient product.Begin to develop one or more areas of technical specialization (industry-related or subject matter) and begin to transition towards service to clients within such areas.Meet productivity and efficiency standards (billable hours).What you'll bring to the table:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related discipline, and 5-7 years of comprehensive tax experience in a public accounting firm. CPA or CPA candidate preferred.The ideal candidate will be a team player who has a desire to expand their accounting knowledge.High-level analytical and reasoning skills.Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive environment.Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client relationships.Focus and dedication to client service.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Knowledge of CCH Axcess Suite.Experience in Tax research.Benefits of joining JMCo:
