A hospital in Western Idaho is in need of NICU RN's to work a 13 week travel assignment. The nurses will be working 12 hour shifts.Job Requirements
If travelers only nursing experience is in NICU 2 years experience is required, if traveler has other RN experience 1 year experience is required.Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Morphine, Dopamine, Epinephrine.RNs are required to titrate drips.Experience or 'Must have' skills: Prematurity 22 weeks and above, respiratory distress (Nava, Cpap, vents), surgical patients (trachs, g-tubes, shunts, hernia repairs), Feeder/growers.Schedule Information
The nurses will be working 12 hour shifts.Shifts & Scheduling: 07-19 (Day shift), 19-07 (Night shift).No self-scheduling, scheduler works with traveler to schedule.No more than 5 shifts in a row.Weekend Requirement: Will be used to fill in where there is a need.Holiday Requirement: Yes, if there is a need.Unit Specific Information
Unit: NICU - Floor 2Level of NICU: Level IV# of Beds: 61 beds- 24 rooms that can have up to 3 patients per room.Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1-3Neonatologist in house 24/7: Yes, NNP and neonatologist 24/7.RT Equipment: Drager, Servo, HFJV, HFOV, Nava, Cpap, Nasal Cannula.Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: No.Scrub Color/Dress Code: Hospital blue scrubs or personal scrubs.How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: 2 shifts of orientation to unit and 1 shift with meeting with educator to review unit standards.Additional Details
There is no Call or a Standby requirement.Floating Requirements: Possibly to Peds, PICU, nursery or Mother Baby if they have that experience (would get an orientated if needed), May also float to Meridian Medical Center or Nampa Medical to their NICUs which are lower acuity.This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, candidates' perm address in the submittal is required to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.
