LICEN002024A Day in the Life of a Licensed Practical Nurse:Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LPN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individual patient care within the scope of their training and experience.

Here Is What You Will Be Doing:Completes nursing assessment of patient and documents appropriately into patient chart.Collaborates with the RN to review and/or revise the plan of care, including a discharge plan, based upon the assessment of patient's needs.Implements medical and nursing orders as allowed by the Wyoming LPN scope of practice and hospital policy, and documents appropriately.Collaborates with the RN to evaluate patient's response to care.Engages in patient/family teaching as appropriate; performs clinical/technical skills as required by the specific department.Works collaboratively with the RN in charge to meet physicians, coworkers, management and other department needs.Mandatory education and contact education requirements including 15 CEUs per year.An LPN that has a WSBON IV certification, may manage infusions as outlined by organizational policies and in accordance with the Wyoming State Board of Nursing (WSBON).Per WSBON Scope of Practice, The LPN not designated as IV-C may engage in a limited scope managing infusion therapy to include basic knowledge and skills as designated by the State.
