Certification Details Certs REQ: ACLS, BLS, PALS, RRT, and State license required. Job Details Position / Specialty: Respiratory Therapist Shift: 3x12 Nights (1800-0630) - must be open to overtime. Avg. Daily Census: 130. 180 bed facility. Years of experience REQ: Minimum 2 years' experience required First-timers accepted: Yes Weekend REQ: Will work every other or every third weekend depending on department need. Is on-call REQ? Yes- on call required December-April. Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Will float if needed. Open to accommodating block schedule? Discuss schedule requests with manager. Locals accepted: Yes- no radius. Pending License accepted: No- active IL license required to apply. RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days. Guaranteed Hours: Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours. If Client cancels more hours than permitted by this section, Client will be billed for any shifts or portions thereof cancelled in excess of this section. If Candidates are placed on-call in lieu of being called off, that will count as a called-off shift. Patient Diagnoses: All age groups neonatal through geriatric and all possible diagnoses. Special Procedures/Unit Details: Assist with bronchoscopies on occasion. Nighttime and daytime SAT / SBT responsibilities. Mostly routine respiratory care. Called to Emergency Department for all codes/traumas and severe respiratory distress only. Level II Nursery with sporadic bubble CPAP and invasive mechanical ventilation. Peds during RSV season which results in a lot of HFNC utilization. Special Equipment: Drager V500 Ventilators (16), EV 300 Bipaps (10), V60 Bipaps (12), ResMed Tabletop PAP Devices (6), Volara (metaneb)(5), Vest therapy (4), Aerobika, Breath Actuated Nebulizers, Aerogen on all equipment. Required Work Setting Experience: Adult Critical Care, ED, Pediatrics. Preferred Work Setting Experience: NICU, PICU, Transports (may need to assist with transfers to sister hospitals). Required Airway Management Devices/Suctioning Skills/Experience: Endrotracheal tube/suctioning, Extubation, Intubation Assist, Nasal airway placement, Nasal airway suctioning, Oral airway placement, Oropharyngeal/suctioning, Pulmonary Hygiene, Sputum specimen collection, Tracheostomy/suctioning. Required Care of the Patient With: ARDS, Aspiration, COVID, Cystic fibrosis, Fresh tracheostomy, Pneumonia. Required Medication Administration Skills/Experience: Albuterol, Atrovent, Bicarbonate, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, Xopenex. Required Medication Delivery System Experience/Skills: Aerosol set up mask, Aerosol set up trach, Medihaler, Metered dose inhaler. Required Nebulizer Skills/Experience: Cold, Hand held, Heated, Trach collar. Required Oxygen therapy skills/experience: Bag and mask, ET Tube, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Trach collar. Required Ventilator Management Skills/Experience: BiPap, CPAP, Troubleshooting high pressure alarms, Weaning from mechanical ventilation. Required Neonatal/Pediatrics - Equipment/procedures Skills/Experience: Bubble CPAP, Capillary blood gases, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, IMV/SIMV, Intubation Assist, Pressure/Volume Ventilator, Umbilical blood gases. Preferred Neonatal/Pediatrics - Equipment/procedures Skills/Experience: Assist in high risk delivery, Neonatal transports (inter-departmental). Required Care of the Infant/Child With: Respiratory syncytial virus, Transient Tachypnea of the newborn. Preferred Care of the Infant/Child With: Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia, Near drowning, Respiratory distress syndrome. Required Professional Knowledge and Skills: ABG interpretation, Chest physiotherapy, Drawing arterial blood gases. Cerner experience required. Community Hospital Experience Preferred. Level I and II trauma experience Preferred. Additional Details Scrub Color: Navy Blue (preferred), Any solid color if not navy. Charting: Cerner Parking Cost: parking permit required, no cost.
