POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the proper distribution, decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments, supplies, and equipment in accordance with policy and procedure. Prepares operating room case carts, sterile trays, and supplies for all areas of the hospital.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Contributes to the efficient operation of the department in providing requested supplies to all patient care units in accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, and administrative policies.Responsible for the decontamination and/or sterilization of all reusable equipment, instruments, supplies, and documents with attention to quality control and safety per Infection Control Standards, Universal Precautions, biohazard, and OSHA guidelines. Utilizes all sterilizing monitors and indicators appropriately and documents accurately.Performs quality control through routine testing and cleaning to assure sterilization equipment and instruments are functioning properly. Inspects equipment, instruments, and packaging for cleanliness, defects and/or malfunctions. Ensures specialty carts are stocked and ready for immediate use.What qualifications you will need:
