Essential Functions:
Ensure the policies, procedures, and practices of the Sterile Processing comply with standards established by all regulatory agencies.
Surgical instrumentation, or equipment (orthopedic, GYN, General), washers, sterilizers and high-level disinfection processors.
Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, and assembles a variety of complex surgical instruments and instrument sets, including endoscopes, i.e. gastroscope and bronchoscope, and colon scopes.
Performs the operation of cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of equipment.
Maintains accurate documentation in accordance to standards set by OSHA and the Joint Commission.
Position Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
High School or equivalent
Prefer previous sterile processing experience
Prefer certification as Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician or Certified Registered Central Service Technician.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for entire shift
Ability to maintain productivity standards
Demonstrated technical knowledge of sterile processing
Excellent communication, customer service, human relations, and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and self-motivated to complete duties in a timely manner
Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently •
Basic mechanical ability
Ability to follow instructions
Basic mathematical skills
Basic judgment and logic skills
Knowledge of and ability to follow safety principles
