Cost Accountant – Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry
You have a strong passion for finding where a business can improve profitability and efficiency by assigning costs to products, services, processes, and projects. You have an eye for where we are leaking money and what we can do to home in on how to save and where to budget.
Your close eye to detail, prioritization, data analytics, and organization will make you successful here at our growing, family-owned business here by the lake.
You will need to possess a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting or Finance and have demonstrated knowledge of data sciences, either through post-secondary course work or professional work experience in a manufacturing setting.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Standard product costing
Variance calculations
Budget versus actual comparisons
Inventory accuracy on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports, including determining variances and resolving the same
Daily you will have the opportunity to:
Manage annual standard cost revaluation
Collaborate with other departments and areas to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory.
Maintain overall cost accounting system.
Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
Plan, study, collect data and analyze any changes to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor Analyze capital budgeting requests for reason, return on investment, and payback; provide statistical analysis of projections.
Assist CFO & Controller on special projects, government reports, and property taxes
This isn’t your typical office position. Not only will you be working with engineering and manufacturing regarding cost standards, but you will also be on the production floor from time to time performing Cost Accountant duties.
