Arbors Management is looking for an experienced Building Maintenance Technician located in Pittsburgh, PA for a full-time position at an independent living high-rise property.
This position will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a 100-unit residential building. Skills required are listed below.
Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
On-call time will be required for evening and weekend emergencies and is shared with other maintenance staff.
An effective Building Maintenance Technician will:Ensure apartment turnovers are completed within an average of 5-7 working daysComplete day-to-day work orders
Emergency work orders completed ASAP (On-call)
Upkeep of all grounds and common areas including but not limited to windows, floors, restroom, sidewalks, snow and grassMaintain adequate inventory for common repairs and consistent organization of the maintenance shopCultivate and sustain positive relationships with all outside vendors and contractorsCommunicate regularly with Property Managers and the Maintenance DirectorSkills needed to be successful as the Building Maintenance Technician include:Intermediate to advanced knowledge of:
Plumbing repairElectrical repairDrywall hanging and repairPainting
Basic HVAC knowledge preferredWillingness and ability to handle trash compactor, dumpsters, custodial work and grounds-keeping
Snow removal and lawn care included
Use of a laptop and/or a cell phone regularlyQualifications:High School diploma or equivalent3+ years experience working in a building maintenance positionPhysical ability to lift 60 lbs., stand, bend, walk, stoop, crawl and/or climb for the duration of an 8-hour shiftMust pass pre-employment drug and background screenMust have valid drivers license, insurance and personal vehicleRequirements:
