**Job Title: Welder****Job Description**Candidates will be welding steel parts for structural, plate, and miscellaneous steel assemblies per shop drawings. Primary techniques performed for this position are flux core, MIG, and Tack. This is not a production-type environment where you weld similar parts all day. Candidates will be working on various steel fabrication projects for large scale construction use including handrails, staircases, and other structures.**Hard Skills**+ Welder Fitter+ Flux Core+ MIG**Soft Skills**+ Teamwork+ Communication+ Problem-Solving**Job Type**This is a permanent position.**Work Site**This is a fully on-site position in OMAHA, Nebraska.**Work Environment**Basic welders will start in teams of 4-5 who work directly with a foreman throughout their entire shift. There is a high level of peer and supervisor communication because of the diversity of work they do day-to-day. New projects need to be communicated and teamwork utilized to problem solve each new situation. Very large warehouse-type facility with open garages, non-climate controlled. Heat can be on average 20 degrees hotter than outside temp in the summer, then normal in winter. Large overhead cranes sit over each work station to move the steel beams. VERY open and spacious work environment, no work station boundaries, people and forklifts moving around everywhere. Dress code is t-shirt, jeans, and metatarsal boots. Permanent employees will be offered boot vouchers once a year to upgrade their boots. Candidates will be required to have their own metatarsal boots on day one. They operate on 4 10-hour shifts. Overtime is offered as a full 10-hour shift on the 5th day. Overtime is occasionally required once a month when they get busy however is always an option for those who want it. Overtime will never be during their 10-hour shift, it is only offered as a full 5th day of work. Shifts are M-Thr, with overtime being on Friday. Next shift is Thr-Sun, with overtime being on Monday. Each day has two shifts. 1st shift is 5AM-3:30 PM, and 2nd shift is 3:30PM-1:30 AM. There is a shift pay differential of 7% for 2nd shift. Candidates will be required to be on their feet for their entire shift. They will be given two breaks for 15 min each and a 30 min lunch break. All breaks are paid for.
