They must be capable to operate a forklift and order picker.A Material Handler is expected to work with other Handlers to effectively meet or exceed expectations for quality and operations.Responsibilities:Loads and Unloads material within a warehouse or storage facility.Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, order picker, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trailers and within the storage facility.Possesses the ability to read and follow operating procedures.Receive customer supplied materials for proper labeling, handling and movement of materials and paperwork.Must accurately document all work performed on inspection reports and receiving/shipping documents.Maintain the segregation of conforming vs. non-conforming product.Prepare packages and paperwork for product/materials being shipped.Performs additional duties as required under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor and Warehouse Manager.Adheres to safety guidelines.Maintains cleanliness of work areas, tools and equipment.Acts as a resource during audits or customer visits for questions and answers or practical demonstrations.Performs job duties with no assistance or supervision. Independent judgement is required.QualificationsRequirements:Educational:Be able to read, write and speak fluent EnglishHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is requiredTechnical:N/APhysical:Regularly lift and/or move up to 70 poundsOccasionally move and/or lift up to 100 pounds (with assistance)Standing up to 10 hours at a time.Environment:Work is performed in a low noise, well maintained Warehouse environment with the associated hazards.Training: Requires on the job training as required to meet job requirementsRequires special skills based on extensive training and experience.Performance: Decision Making & Problem Solving: Able to make clear and accurate decisions.Policies and Procedures: Able to conform to all established procedures and work activities.Interaction: Able to communicate well verbally and in writing with employees and management as needed.Initiative: Able to function with minimum supervision.Leadership: Able to lead discussions and meetings with senior management staffMust be able to work in a team environment.Ability to interface and communicate with people effectively.
