Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Hermitage, Tennessee. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours Employment Type: Travel Hospital: Location: Summit Medical Center Address: 5655 Frist Boulevard Unit Name: PCU Building: Cost Center: 630/633 General Information Unit Specifics: · Number of Beds : 630 has 34 beds/ 633 has 25 · Patient Ratios : 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights · Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : 3 techs when full on 630 and 2 techs when full on 633 · Type of equipment : bipaps, high flow o2, vapotherm, alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis. Wound vacs in conjunction with wound care · Documentation system: Meditech · Scheduling requirements: every other weekend requirement for contract, 3 12 hour shifts a week · Floating policy: may have to float in between PCU units or float to med-surg floors · Patient Experience requirements: hourly rounding on days, every 2 hour rounding on nights, AIDET and keeping up with communication boards on 7 th floor. Dept 633 has tv communication boards. Hospital Specifics- · Certifications: BLS, ACLS Hiring profile Requested Skill Set: Must have : Critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac drip, insulin drip and heparin drip experience. Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred and peripheral iv skills. Advanced skills needed: ACLS. Experience with bipaps, high flow 02 and multiple oxygen delivery systems. Experience with stroke and post cardiac cath care. Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred. Experience with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes. Procedures performed on unit: Peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes. Trouble shooting wound vacs Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS Dress Code : (Required uniform) · Black Scrubs Unit Guidelines/Policies : Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines. · Awards/Recognition: Please include anything that you would like prospective candidates to be aware of, such as, links to videos that feature the department, outstanding department/team awards · Any additional information that would entice a worker to select your unit for their assignment: Unit does self scheduling. Schedules are 4 weeks, and contract are required to work every other weekend. Utilize techs to care for the patients and assist in care. Most travelers extend after the first time on PCU.
