We are currently seeking a Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse, and PRN LicensedPractical Nurses to join our team at Aiken County Detention Center located inAiken, South Carolina.

About this position:The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing care for and treatingdetainees in a correctional setting. Correctional nurses administer both routine andemergency medical care and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.
EducationRequires graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursingprogram.
CertificationsCurrent LPN licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain licenseCurrent Basic Life Support
Job Type: Full-TimeCorrectional nursing experience preferred but not requiredAbility to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminalbackground check
Available shift:7A-7P - Day Shift7P-7A - Night ShiftPRN Availability
General Duties: (not limited to but includes)Provide patient treatments such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring,weight checks, nebulizer treatments, etc. as ordered by a licensed medicalprovider.Ensure all referrals for consultation, treatment or resolution of problems are validand applicable to the documented nursing plans.Administer ordered medications to inmates as ordered by a licensed medicalprovider and approved by the medical director and document administration asrequired by GENESYS Health policy/procedureCarries out nursing care plans on inmates as prescribed or directed by ALP,Physician, and/or RNEnsure security of area and medications while administration is occurring; as wellas keeping safety top priority.Complete initial and ongoing screening on detained individuals upon admissioninto a correctional settingExplain procedures and treatment protocols to patients
