The Plant Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the concrete plant.

Essential Functions:Adheres to all safety rules and works safely on all jobs.Oversee the daily operations and performance of mixer drivers and other plant personnel, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of concrete to job sites.Daily operation of designated concrete plant; concrete mix production, general concrete knowledge, ability to operate independently are a must.Processing orders, customer service.Preventative maintenance on the plant, including but not limited to greasing, parts replacement, monitoring wear items and areas.Ordering supplies, monitoring fuel, admixture and other additive levels and overall cleanliness of plant.While performing the duties of this position the incumbent is regularly required to stand for up to 10-12 hours (rest breaks as required by law will be provided), use hand to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks, stoop, bend, twist, kneel and crouch.Report immediately to Ready-Mix General Manager any damage to the equipment or safety hazards or accidents.Oversee plant personnel, fostering their professional growth and development while aligning their objectives with the company's goals.Communicate with dispatch on a regular basis to optimize workflow, making them aware of issues or maintenance needs of trucks and plant.Must be able to consistently lift and/or manipulate with push/pull force +/- 50 pounds.Flexibility regarding schedule, working early and/or extended hours, weekends, and holidays when required.

High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years' experience with concrete plant operations preferred.Strong mechanical ability, welding and cutting experience, computer proficiency, and customer service skills required.Must be motivated and able to handle multiple projects with little supervision in an extremely fast paced environment.Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.Will be required to pass a physical and drug screen

Work Conditions

Incumbent must be able to tolerate moderate to loud noise level (PPE will be provided, including hearing protection as required), long hours standing, walking, and laboring outdoors in varying weather conditions – frequently in extreme heat.
