Under supervision of a radiologist and direction department leadership, competently performs imaging on a 1.5 T magnetic resonance imaging scanner.

Responsible for scanning and preparing images for review per protocols in MRI.

Must have the ability to recognize cross-sectional anatomy, perform MRI’s and inject contrast media where applicable.

Responsible for providing service excellence and complying with hospital policies and procedures.

Uses the RIS/PACS and HIS for proper recording of patient exams and dissemination of patient results.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Completed education requirements to become Certified in MRI.

Minimum Work Experience

Recent, up to one year, hospital related experience

Digital Imaging and post processing PACS experience

Required Licenses/Certifications

MRI certified by ARRT (ARMRIT or CAMRT)*

BLS Certification through American Heart Association.

Must obtain 24 ECE credits, in a two-year period, for re-certification and licensure.

2 MRI Safety Credits annually

*or acquire within first year of employment.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Knowledge and ability to provide care based on physical and psychosocial development and safety issues related to patients of all age groups, including infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

Strong communication skills to effectively relay information both up and down the chain of command.

Ability to plan, organize, set goals and objectives for review and evaluation.

Knowledge of state and federal health safety laws and TJC Standards.

Ability to recognize cross-sectional anatomy.

Ability to establish access to veins for purpose of giving IV contrast.

Knowledge of basic medical equipment (i.e. O2 Tank, pulse oximeter, EKG machines, etc.).

Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.

Pay Range = $31.71 - $46.88
