Position: First Generation Self-Advocacy and Healthy Living Facilitator
Study Smart Tutors is seeking a Self-Advocacy and Healthy Living Facilitator in the Saratoga, CA area. This role involves guiding students through restorative practices, conflict-resolution strategies, and community-building activities. The facilitator will work closely with school staff, students, and families to foster a positive school culture and address behavioral challenges using restorative methods. Additionally, you may lead classroom workshops to support educators, counselors, and students in implementing Self-Advocacy and Healthy Living practices. Strong communication skills, a background in counseling, education, or restorative justice, and experience working with students are essential for this position.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead Restorative Sessions: Facilitate engaging and interactive Self-Advocacy/Healthy Living circles, discussions, and activities designed to help students develop conflict resolution skills and foster a supportive school environment.
Curriculum Implementation: Adapt and implement Self-Advocacy/Healthy Living curriculum and materials to meet the needs of students and school communities.
Student Support: Assess student needs through one-on-one and group interactions, offering guidance to support their social-emotional growth and conflict resolution skills.
Collaboration: Work in partnership with Study Smart Tutors' Education team, school staff, educators, and counselors to provide comprehensive Self-Advocacy/Healthy Living strategies tailored to each school community.
Encourage Positive Behavior: Motivate and support students, helping them build self-awareness, empathy, and constructive communication skills.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates MUST hold a completed 4-year degree and be a first-generation student.
Graduate students in school counseling, social work, education, or a related field are strongly encouraged to apply.
Experience in school settings, preferably in counseling, social-emotional learning, or Self-Advocacy, Healthy Living practices.
Availability for in-person facilitation in the Saratoga, CA area.
Comfortable implementing various engagement strategies tailored to diverse student populations.
Facilitators must complete training sessions before their first assignment.
Salary and Benefits:
