By building personal connections with our audiences, choreographers, and fellow artists, we aim to push the boundaries of contemporary dance and inspire authentic artistic expression.Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director to lead our company into its next phase of growth and impact. The Executive Director will collaborate closely with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors to align our mission of creating transformative, emotionally resonant work with sustainable business practices. This individual will manage operations, fundraising, strategic initiatives, financial management, and human resources while fostering relationships with the Chicago dance community and beyond.Key Responsibilities:Inspire Growth: Lead strategic initiatives that expand our reach, both locally and globally, while ensuring our financial sustainability.Elevate Fundraising: Innovate and execute compelling fundraising strategies, build and nurture relationships with donors and sponsors, and oversee grant management to support and grow our artistic endeavors.Lead Operations: Oversee logistics in performance, production, and all aspects of touring, while managing our team and maintaining clear communication across departments.Foster Partnerships: Build lasting connections with artists, audiences, and stakeholders to enhance the company’s visibility and impact.Enhance the Vision: Work side by side with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors to strengthen and evolve the company’s mission of creating transformative and authentic dance work.Engage the Community: Develop and implement outreach programs and initiatives that connect with and engage diverse communities, expanding the company’s impact and fostering strong, lasting relationships within the local and broader arts community.Manage Finances: Oversee accounting functions through Quick Books, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cash flow management, to ensure the company’s fiscal health.Human Resources: Handle human resources responsibilities including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws.Qualifications:Proven leadership in the arts or nonprofit sector, with a passion for contemporary dance.Strong communicator and team player with the ability to inspire and rally support.Experience in fundraising, financial management, and community outreach.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage human resources and work with a Board of Directors.A visionary mindset with the ability to think creatively and strategically.Passion for the arts and an understanding of the unique challenges faced by a dance companyBachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred)Compensation:Competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience.How to Apply:Please submit your resume, a cover letter detailing your qualifications and vision for Visceral Dance Chicago, and three professional references to Nick Pupillo at npupillo@visceraldance.com.Visceral is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
