The anticipated salary range for this role is between $100,000.00 and $110,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

The Nikko team is looking to hire an Analyst to support to members of senior management of the Nikko capital markets businesses. As a member of the corporate finance and planning group, the candidate will work closely with members of Nikko management as well as fixed income and equity capital markets and be exposed to significant firm-wide projects.

Role Objectives

Provide appropriate support for on-going client dialogue and marketing efforts, including preparing pitch decks and board and management materials

Track, compile and distribute market data and business performance information for the various businesses

Assist in implementing growth strategies, focus areas, and risk mitigation strategies

Work on special ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will possess or demonstrate the following personal and professional attributes:

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, ability to synthesize large amounts of information, analyze risk and identify mitigating factors. Desire to learn and grow in the area of corporate finance and financial markets.

Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail and an ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner against strict deadlines.

Highly collaborative and flexible in a team and client environment with ability to form good relationships internally and externally. Able to coordinate and communicate with various internal departments across the bank (middle/back office, global counterparts).

Ability to organize thoughts and clearly articulate points and provide summaries and explanations of transactions, orally or in writing to management or other internal departments.

Must be proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
