The Financial Analyst, College of Professional Studies
(CPS) is part of the financial management operations for CPS. This position provides training and support on P-card requisition, invoice payment policies, and processes. This position is the first-level approval for CPS expense reports, invoices, and P-Card transactions in Concur under the direction of the Finance Director. Business responsibilities typically include collaborating with the Finance Director (FD) and finance team in preparation of budgets, forecasts, detailed account analysis, journal entries, variance reporting, and tracking of trends; and collaborating with Procurement, the P-Card office, Accounts Payable, and the Controller's office in processing and tracking of payments. This position runs financials from the enterprise system and provides monthly reports to FD and departments, including explanation of variances. Additional responsibilities include analyzing financial data to identify trends, mitigating potential risks, and researching industry best practices (e.g. financial benchmarks, policies, statutory codes, etc.) for a variety of administrative and fiscal requirements. This position identifies gaps in business processes and procedures and supports the FD in developing internal financial and budget management policies, processes, and procedures to enhance information flow and maintain accurate records for the division. This role develops tracking and monitoring tools to ensure progress in achieving strategic and department work plan goals and reviews key performance indicators division-wide, such as invoice aging, budget utilization, and transaction cycle times.
This position performs other duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning additional responsibilities that are logically related to the position.
This is a hybrid position with some days in-person in Washington, DC, and some days remote.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:Critical thinking skills and the ability to apply concepts and methodologies across analyses are highly valued.Demonstrates attention to detail.Ability to work independently.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Experience in higher education/nonprofits is desired.Proficiency in using enterprise systems such as Oracle Financials and Banner and software such as Kronos (timekeeping) and Concur (travel and expense) is preferred.Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the ability to manipulate, analyze, and work with large data sets is highly desired.
Hiring Range$51,455.52 - $70,708.76
