Requirements

SUMMARY:

Audio Visual Field Engineers are responsible for working closely with the Engineering team to bring newly installed AV and multimedia systems to completion. Audio Visual Field Engineers will ensure that New Era Technology standards are upheld on all AV and multimedia systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

The Audio Visual Field Engineer shall be responsible for but not limited to the following:Work with engineering team to complete drawing reviewsOversee and support multiple projects occurring simultaneouslyReview project requirements and schedule remote & onsite support time to complete projects in timely fashionSupport Project Managers and Engineers regarding project specific technical requirementsParticipate in engineering discussionsQC systems installed by others (i.e. subcontractors, etc.)Train clients on use of AV SystemsSupport install team in installation of systems as neededCrimp, solder, wire pull, label, terminate, and other technical tasks associated with AV systemsFabricate AV systems in the field and inhouse as neededStage AV systems in-house as neededInstalling and labeling equipment into racksDressing cables in racks, under tables, in credenzas, in lecterns/podiums etc.Labeling and Terminating cables both in and out of racksDocumentation of equipment (i.e. Serial Numbers, MAC addresses, IP Addresses, etc.)Inventory control and Chain of CustodyRead and markup project documentsMaintain a clean and organized work areaConfigure, Load, test and troubleshoot control systems programmingWrite, load, and tweak DSP filesWrite, load, and test basic configurable systemsWork closely with the programmer (whether in-house or sub-contractor)Troubleshoot and repair newly installed and existing custom AV systemsProvide detailed daily reports of work completed and open Punch-List itemsRead, understand and follow any consultant documentationUse hand and power toolsSafe use of ladders, scaffolding and liftsLift heavy and bulky equipmentUnderstand and meet all deadlinesResolve all customer service issues with managementMaintain a professional appearance and attitudeWork to achieve 100% customer satisfaction 100% of the timeFull compliance with company's policies and proceduresGiving excellent customer service through a professional attitudeOther duties as deemed necessary by managementCOMPETENCY:

Strong client and service focused mindset, demonstrate excellent listening skills and the ability to understand customer issues.Understanding of how audiovisual systems function, and how to diagnose and resolve problems within those systemsAn ability to use discretion and good judgment regard to sensitive or confidential informationProficient with computers, including audiovisual applications (ClearOne, AMX, Extron, Crestron, Poly, Cisco, QSC, Biamp, etc.)Must have a clean driving recordAbility to work flexible hours and period domestic and international travelMust have excellent organization skillsMust have proven multitasking skills and can work under extreme pressuresMust have solid soldering skillsHave a valid US PassportEXPERIENCE:

CTS certification and a minimum of four years of AV experience is required with proven proficient skills required for Field Engineer level from New Era Technology, PA Field Personnel Matrix.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

New Era Technology office and client sites, domestic and international

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

Business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. However, required work hours may vary depending on business needs. Ability to work flexible hours is required.
