As a Hospice Chaplain for Interim HealthCare®, you’ll visit patients and families in their homes and connect them to the resources, counseling and support they need to rise above their challenges and live their best.We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator to provide spiritual support and guidance to patients and families in a hospice setting. This role will also involve coordinating bereavement services to ensure that families receive the necessary emotional support during and after their loved one's transition.Our Hospice Chaplains enjoy some excellent benefits:Salary:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hourPRN position1:1 chaplain-to-patient ratios where you impact outcomesFlexible assignments, autonomy and work-life balanceTuition discounts through Rasmussen UniversityFriendly work environment, because we are family first.As a Hospice Chaplain, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:Conducts assessments for our hospice patients and their caregivers to identify their spiritual needs.Ensures that appropriate spiritual services are provided in a timely manner by either providing such to the patient/family or coordinating the provision of services with community clergy or spiritual counselors.Provides direct spiritual services to patients/families according to their belief system and practice.Participates in the development of the interdisciplinary group (IDG) plan of care to meet identified spiritual needs.Acts as the hospice spiritual services community liaison by developing community contacts and offering hospice education to a variety of clergy, counselors and congregations.Provides funeral or memorial services for patients as requested.Providing Bereavement Services for patient familiesA few must-haves for a Hospice Chaplain:Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv, or equivalent theological degree)Completed 3 Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) UnitsExperience working with death and dying, terminal individuals and their families or caregiversHospice experience is preferredStrong interpersonal skills, good communicator, empathetic, compassionate and resourcefulFounded in 1966, Interim HealthCare is the nation’s first home care company.
