Our highly reputable organization in the Manufacturing industry is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Permanent FSQA (Food Safety and Quality Assurance) Supervisor. This position offers the exciting opportunity to contribute to the highest standards of food safety and quality in our company. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet and exceed regulatory and customer expectations, utilizing their expertise in SQF, HACCP, and general food safety principles.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the implementation and enforcement of food safety and quality assurance protocols and procedures, including but not limited to those related to SQF and HACCP.
  2. Conduct routine internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and customer requirements.
  3. Provide leadership and guidance to the FSQA team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and commitment to quality.
  4. Develop, review, and update FSQA documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and corrective action reports.
  5. Manage and investigate customer complaints related to food safety and quality, implementing corrective and preventive measures as necessary.
  6. Conduct regular training sessions for staff on food safety and quality assurance topics, ensuring a high level of awareness and competency across the organization.
  7. Work closely with other departments, including production and supply chain, to ensure the integration of FSQA principles into all aspects of the company's operations.
  8. Monitor and analyze FSQA data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  9. Stay current with industry trends, regulatory updates, and emerging food safety and quality assurance technologies.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a food safety and quality assurance role, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
  3. Strong knowledge of food safety and quality assurance principles, including SQF and HACCP.
  4. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop staff.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  8. Certified in HACCP and SQF, or willing to obtain certification upon hire.
  9. A strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to food safety and quality assurance.
  10. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
