Luna Cafe, located inside Ashland Hills Hotel, is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Barista to join our team! We serve hotel guests and local patrons alike, providing an elevated coffee experience in a local hotel setting. As a Barista, you'll craft exceptional beverages while creating memorable experiences for our diverse clientele through outstanding service and expertise.Position Summary: Join our team at Luna Cafe as a Barista where you'll be responsible for preparing high-quality beverages and providing excellent customer service in our upscale hotel café environment.
Essential Functions:
Craft various coffee drinks, espresso shots, teas, and other beverages following established recipes and presentation standardsOperate and maintain coffee-making equipment including espresso machines, grinders, and brewersTake customer orders accurately while providing personalized recommendationsMaintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and seating areasProcess payments through various methods (cash, credit, mobile)Manage inventory and restock supplies throughout shiftsCreate a welcoming atmosphere through exceptional customer serviceFollow food safety and hygiene standards, including proper allergen handlingPerform regular equipment cleaning and maintenanceExecute opening and closing proceduresParticipate in ongoing training and skill developmentRequired Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalentStrong customer service and communication skillsBasic math skills for cash handlingPhysical ability to stand for extended periodsAttention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentFlexible availability including weekends and holidaysTeam-oriented mindsetMultitasking capabilitiesPreferred Qualifications:
Previous barista experienceKnowledge of coffee varieties and brewing methodsExperience with POS systemsFood safety certificationCash handling experienceHotel or hospitality experience a plusPhysical Requirements:6-8 hours
