Job Details

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Audit Associate with 6+ years of experience to join our team. As a Senior Audit Associate, you will be responsible for leading and executing audit engagements for a wide range of clients, including not-for-profit organizations, employee benefit plans, and construction companies. You will work closely with our clients to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and provide valuable insights to help them improve their financial performance. Responsibilities will include planning and performing of audits, reviews and compilations for closely-held businesses and nonprofit organizations concentrated in central NC. Mostly local clients, minimal travel involved.

Individual will work closely with audit managers and partners in collecting information from our clients to prepare all work papers and schedules needed to support attestation services.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations
  • Train and mentor staff and interns on engagement and firm processes
  • Work with team on managing client needs
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients

Skills:

  • Proficiency in US GAAP and GAAS
  • Experience with financial statement preparation & disclosures
  • Strong communication
  • Critical thinking
  • Commitment to client service

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA or eligibility to sit
  • 2-4 years previous public accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry expertise with construction, nonprofits, and/or employee benefit plan audits
  • Experience with CCH Engagement software
  • Experience with QuickBooks accounting software
