Role Description
As a critical member of the Finance team, your responsibility is to plan and execute the company's three-statement, long-range financial forecast and to provide management reporting results that compare to the forecast. In managing the company's financial forecast and results reporting, you will work collaboratively with members of Form's Accounting and Finance teams. You will analyze the Finance team's budgets to ensure high-fidelity capex and opex forecasts, develop robust working capital assumptions, model non-dilutive financing pathways, and provide detailed analytics on financial deviations.
This role requires strong analytical & Excel skills, a high degree of autonomy, and the perseverance needed to navigate challenges that come with start-up environments. Depth and breadth of knowledge in accounting principles, three-statement financial modeling, and variance analysis is required. A strong desire to learn the business quickly is necessary for success in this role, as is the ability to look beyond the numbers and analyze the underlying factors that impact Form Energy's financial performance.
This is a Hybrid role that requires 3 days in the office per week. This role can be based in one of our Form Energy offices in Somerville, MA, Berkeley, CA, or Weirton, WV.
What you'll do:
Lead the company-wide quarterly forecast cycles, monthly operating reviews, and monthly budget versus actual reviewsDevelop exec-facing presentations on weekly metrics, monthly results, quarterly and annual projections that distill the impact of plan of record changes on the company's cash needs and profitabilityProvide detailed analytics on the key business drivers for financial deviations in monthly results versus forecast, and in forecast over forecast changesAnalyze, through financial scenario modeling, and assess potential risks and opportunities for the company, enabling mitigation initiatives and optionality on key strategic decisionsDevelop and manage a 13-week rolling cash forecast with real time tracking of projected cash burn, based on issued POs, the timing of expected goods / service receipt, and the impact on cash based on payment termsDrive business process development across Corporate FP&A tools & platformsSupport equity investor reporting requirements, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting, and external reporting requirements for debt providersWhat you'll bring:
5-7 years of relevant finance experienceDeep analytical rigor and financial modeling skills; demonstrated ability to distill complex financial information into actionable insights for leadershipDemonstrated skill in partnering across teams and building strong relationships with business partners, Finance partners, and Accounting partnersMeticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy of financial informationProactive communication style with stakeholders and managementInitiative in organizing financial forecast and reporting cycles; active engagement in problem solving without prompting
