S/He assists with diagnostic exams, performs clerical duties including record keeping, and maintains high quality services. Communicates effectively with patients/families and all care providers.Performs all diagnostic routine procedures (minor trauma, fluoroscopy, minor surgery, and routine studies)Acquires requisition and checks for appropriate clinicalObtains appropriate supplies and prepares room for patientAccess patient’s condition and level of cooperation and makes appropriate judgment of proper careNotifies nurse and charts all infiltrates and reactionsQuality check films before sending to radiologist to include markers, all pertinent information needed for appropriate dictationWrites additional information on request as neededKeeps room cleaned and stocked at all timesResponds to codes and other emergency situations appropriatelyExplains procedure to patient and introduces self and identifies departmentInforms patients and families of all delays(Including calling inpatient's room when procedure is delayed more than 1 hour)Assist other technologists when not busy in assigned areaCharges procedure and supplies when exam is completedAdds surgical charges when neededOperates the PAC’s system appropriately and verify studies before sending to archiveReports equipment problems to supervisor, in-charge tech and documents confirmation numbersMaintain student confidentialityThis is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executiveStudent Radiology Technologist transition to Radiology TechnologistUpon completion of the ARRT radiology registry, a promotion will be awarded from a student tech position to a vacant radiology technologist position. The promotion wage increase will be based on passing the radiology tech registry.
