Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as the primary point of contact for finance and accounting projects, collaborating with other members of the Client Finance Team and all other departments, as well as the Firm's fund administrator and other consultants, as needed.Liaise with investors, consultants, custodians and trustees on financial reporting and investor deliverables.Support transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, financings), working directly with Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Asset Management, and the Closing Group.Thrive in a fast-paced environment where you'll manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Provide cash projections, engaging directly with Portfolio Managers to map out financial planning. This also includes coordinating and reviewing capital calls, distributions, financing draws and general transaction planning.Supervise and review deliverables from fund administrator team and supporting accountant to ensure accurate and timely reporting is provided to investors and external partners.Operate and enjoy a high degree of autonomy, with the ability to make critical decisions and influence key business outcomes.Oversee third-party property teams, joint-venture partners and the respective property books and records to maintain reporting standards and assist with onboarding new properties. Develop professional and knowledgeable working relationships with joint venture partners.Partner with Portfolio Management and Client Relations to provide key financial data for current and prospective investors.Manage performance reporting for investments, investors, and funds - escalating complex issues to Controller and Head of Performance Reporting, as needed.Research complex GAAP and tax accounting issues, including resolving REIT considerations.Identify and lead projects that improve collaboration or operational efficiency within the Client Finance Team.Manage audit coordination and quarterly financial package production, which includes oversight of fund administrator and supporting accountant where applicable.Manage loan compliance and hedging instruments for funds. Includes ad hoc support for CFO, as needed.Support REIT compliance and tax preparation alongside tax consultants.Facilitate and encourage a collaborative environment while optimizing operational efficiency.Supervise supporting accountant, as directed by Controller, and undertake other assigned duties from time-to-time.Skills and Competencies:

5 years of accounting experience, (minimum 2 years audit preferred)Experience in fund accounting requiredCPA desiredStrong GAAP financial statement preparation and review skillsExcellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilitiesProactive, detail-oriented and capable of problem-solving in a fast-paced environmentVaco values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
